BJERG Arkitektur Polska has developed The Namysłów Nursery building which is a cutting-edge example of an energy efficient building concept.

The integrated day care facility, is used for both children and the local community. The uniqueness of the building is emphasized by its architectural value and selection of services and activities that invites children and local community to explore the facilities. The design meets the highest standards for overall energy efficiency as well as indoor climate (i.e. daylight, air quality, acoustics), affecting the health and well-being of children and all users of the facility.

The municipality of Namysłów has allocated the attractive plot for this project. The daycare center is located at ul. Braterska in Namysłów. The project was to create a modern, integrated daycare center for children that will serve both children, parents and residents of Namysłów.

An energy and functional analyzes made from passive house principles showed that the optimal shape for the daycare center was a compact building shaped as a block that has its longer façade facing south which brings in the southern light into all the nursery rooms.

The building does not only reduce CO2 emissions from the operational phase by energy use reduction, but also reduces the embodied carbon emissions – by selecting low emission construction materials. The whole building has been built out of wooden prefabricated elements.

The opening of the Integrated Nursery Centre – October 2019.
